No Shower, No Toilet, No Electricity, No Bed, No Running water.
I'm going camping!
Only for a few days. I'll be taking the train (little me with backpack, Sleeping Bag and heavy Tent) from Melbourne to Shepparton a fruit farming town/ Regional centre and then a connecting bus to Strathmerton a much smaller town, It has one petrol station, a newsagent and a pub. . .That’s it.
From there I'll get a ride with my brother (who's already been there for a week) to Ulupna Island, in the Middle of the Mighty (and very brown) Murray River.
We used to go camping there as kids on Carters beach.
Koalas sound like wild pigs at night. They sometimes get drunk on the gum leaves and fall out of the trees (That's why they're also known as drop bears) The Koalas there are much bigger than the little ones you can hold at the zoo. There will be Lots of Kangaroos, Cockies and other birds. I wish I could bring Smitten along, he could scream to his hearts content, with no one to hear him but me, my brother Dom and any other fool who may be camping nearby.
It's going to be hot, and dusty and fantastic.
