There has been a lot of open disbelief to the untimely death of Steve Irwin.
The media circus in Australia is getting ridiculous, we have current Affair reporters outside Australia Zoo wearing dressy versions of the Khakis he was famous for with lizards on their shoulders etc. The American Media has arrived and are doing their rounds as well. . A lot of journalists are stooping low for the next big exclusive scoop and I am getting sick hearing the word "mate".
Spin Doctor: "So Mate, what kind of a man was Steve?"
Unsuspecting Family Friend/Childhood neighbour etc: "He was as you saw him, larger than life"
SD: "So have you seen Terry and the kids? How are they coping, mate?
and on and on it goes.
There has been a large outpouring of disbelief and sadness here on Mindsay. Now I urge you to do something concrete with these emotions.
Many of you may not know that the Wildlife Warriors foundation has been responsible for buying back a lot of Habitat around the world amongst other things, so I urge you to make a donation.
If everyone who was touched by the death of Steve Irwin donated one dollar to either Wildlife Warriors Worldwide or The Australian Conservation Foundation or The World Wildlife Fund a lot of good could come from this.

PS: As you can imagine the Wildlife Warriors site (which runs off the Australia Zoo site) can be a little slow at the moment with all the attention. If you can't get through the donations link, there are postal addresses etc.
