Christmas has come so quickly this year. . .I haven't even put the tree up yet. Traditionally my family always do it on Christmas eve to celebrate Holy Night the first of the 12 days of Christmas. I usually can't wait that long.
It's 2am(ish) now, and still hot (about 29C/approx 85F) after a 38degree (100F)day. I spent the day with my friend Ben who lives in Mexico now and is home for a visit. I adore Christmas, but it was nice to get away from it for a little while (Ben's Jewish). We sat at the beach eating fish n' chips ( some of you may remember my Lost in Translation post from July 1. Fish n' Chips doesn't actually have any fish in it for those purists who think my vegetarianism may be slipping) and drinking beer. lovely.
Tomorrow night(Well tonight actually) will be spent at my parents house where we will feast on a semi Vegetarian meal (some seafood probably, but not for me) at about 10pm, watch the Carols by candlelight broadcast and finally exchange gifts at midnight. . .( I know most of you have to wait until Christmas morning. . .he he he or should I say Ho Ho Ho. . .Hmmmn)My brother and father may or may not be there, they often head off to Midnight mass.
Christmas Lunch is usually at my Grandmothers and is usually the most stressful event on my calendar, then I'm off to Gus' parents house for Christmas dinner. We have this great KrisKringle we do there. A little difficult to explain at this hour, may post about it later. Boxing Day is also at Gus' parents house where we'll have a "great Aussie Barbecue"
On 12th night the tree comes down.
Merry Christmas
Lada
