I'm sure many Melbournians wouldn't have been surprised to see animals filing two by two down the sreets last night. We had 160mm of rain last night, more than is our February average.
Every one was affected in some way. . .personally I had a small waterfall in my apartment. The repair man my lovely inundated real-estate agent sent right away said that the problem was actually in the apartment upstairs and that it wouldn't be able to be fixed for a while. Hopefully the rain doesn't continue tonight.
My tree lined street was blocked at one end by fallen branches and at the other by a small river that had formed on the main road. The SES ( State emergency Service) and council cleared the mess quickly considering they received over 8000 calls last night.
As I write this the rain is starting again. . .
Lada.
P.S Do you think they'll put the rent up because we now have a lovely swimming pool in the garden
