Smitten is definitely a girl!
Smitty has been at my parents house for a few weeks and I just got this email from my mum:
Oh my God! Smitten IS a girl. There is an egg, huge egg, like those
Easter chocolate egg lollies (not the Easter egg size) in her cage.
She already attacked it but left it alone. I'll take it out and put it
in a fridge, so you can see it. There was nothing there this afternoon,
when I gave him, sorry, her some dried paw-paw but she looked all
puffed up.
Wow! She needs a boyfriend!

My poor little Smitten kitten, I wonder what the hell he, I mean she was thinking. I wish I was there to comfort her.
I've been considering letting her move out. To an aviary with other birds, but I was a little scared that she'd attack them. That the owner would get up one day and Smitten would be sitting there alone on a perch with a cheeky grin (yes if you know a bird well enough, they grin) with a single feather sticking out of her beak.
. . . and I'd miss her terribly.
