I cried like a baby. . .
It wasn't the dentist who made me anxious.
My teeth were pretty clean so that was painless.
The nurse was nice enough.
My wisdom teeth have to come out, I'm not afraid of surgery.
So it wasn't that either.
I cried because I need a filling. I am the only person I know who has never had one.
The dentist didn't seem to understand.
"Don't worry. . .it wont hurt"
"I'm not worried about the pain. . .sob, sob"
"If you can handle the clean, the filling will be fine"
"I'm not worried about the discomfort. . .sob, sob"
"Are you worried about the numbness? It'll only last an hour or two."
"No the numbness doesn't bother me"
"Don't worry. . .It wont hurt"
I have always been proud of being the girl without any fillings.
My teeth are crooked, I like them cooked.
My teeth are perfect. . .for me.
I didn't go through with it. I will go back in a few weeks and get it done.
The dentist handed me my bill,
a brand new tooth brush, floss, mouthwash and toothpaste,
a referral letter for the oral sergeon
a pamphlet about flossing. . .
and a pamphlet for counselling (lol)
I had to ask for a tissue. . .
and I cried all the way home.
I've never had a filling before.
